Antique obsessed...where it all began

Posted

The Londoner: Portobello Market, london, england

I can recall vividly where my antiques obsession started, standing in my aunts 1930s home in England's south east staring at a richly decorated sitting room - in particular a delicate yet vibrant Tiffany lamp. In some ways the seed of what is now The Bushel Box Co. was sewn. Ever since I've erred towards vintage as my preferred furniture. Give me something that's rough around the edges, a little tired and worn over a showroom perfect new piece any day.

It's that antique obsession that forced me out to explore England's bounty of antiques markets. At first my nearest was Portobello Road. And, so I started to stock pile vintage and vintage-style crates for storage. Occasionally I'd paint them and so...The Bushel Box Co. began.

Now thousands of miles from that rich half mile of antique heaven I'd thought I'd treat myself to a bit of Portobello antique porn. Enjoy! x
